Chapter Philanthropy and Service
Dear Zeta Sisters,
Cheers to a very BOLD event! Thanks to the best fundraising committee in the world: Chris Leary (our fearless leader), Katie Maltais, Kate Bell, Lindsey Johnson, Karen Johnson, Loren Pedrick & Emily Achilles. The heart and energy that went into bringing this event to life was apparent in every detail and all the kudos that have come in since!
While it’s impossible to capture all the wisdom and good humor Dana Crawford dazzled us with, one theme that struck me was the importance of “eyeball to eyeball” contact in every deal she’s ever made. It was realized in the new friendships that were seeded this weekend with sisters who attended an RMAC event for the first time and the old friendships that are strengthened by spending time together.
Dana also shared with us her experience in graduate business school. It was a program associated with Harvard, but not “at Harvard” because women weren’t allowed to be in the men’s program in fear they would be exposed to “colorful language”. I think we can all agree we’ve come a LONG way!
That said, the purpose of this event was to raise money for the RMAC ZTA Memorial Scholarship. Each year, a $2,000 scholarship goes to a sister at CSU in the Kappa Alpha chapter. Because of limited alumna participation in fundraisers the last few years, that scholarship may have to be restructured. This year, we came just short of our goal and would love your help in getting us over the finish line. If you can donate $25 in support of the RMAC Memorial Scholarship, we would deeply appreciate it.
Again - thank you to everyone who came out in support to our Bold Women Event. I could not have imagined a more fun, inspiring event. Our hope is to continue BOLD Women as an every-other-year fundraiser, so look for it in 2020 with a new honoree with insights to share.
Zeta Love,
Bonnie
